industrial design
maker. thinker. problem solver. leader
A native Californian, Leslie is known for high fives that can make any grown man cry, and a work ethic that is just as fierce. Growing up with her hands always dirty, she spends her time making and breaking things to figure out how they work, and how they don’t.
Constantly observing and curious, she began to realize that her problem-solving personality was a good fit for industrial design, so she headed up to San Francisco to start her undergraduate degreeat California College of the Arts. Her motto is “fail early, and fail often”, informing a design process that is always evolving. Her curiosity leads her to seek inspiration from anything ranging from laser beams to soft robots.
Geeking out on subtle details, she’s developing an aesthetic that uses minimal means for maximum ends. She respects design that creates a thoughtful balance between form and function. Always striving for designs that arrive naturally from the knowledge of materials, context, and needs, her goal is to make objects that challenge current paradigms, assumptions and expectations within our surroundings.
